Chunky Crochet Slipper Socks Pattern - Pt 2

The crochet sock slippers (or crochet footies) now have thick, felted wool soles and are ready to wear! The addition of the felted soles gives the bottoms a very cushy padding. They're soft and warm, like slipping your feet into cozy blankets. I’m so happy with how these slippers turned out and I know my sister is going to love them!

You can purchase the ad-free and inexpensive PDF pattern in my shop and on Etsy. Or you can check out the previous post here for the free version of the chunky crochet socks slipper pattern.

Here’s how to felt yarn soles for crochet slippers

Use the pattern from the previous post to make the soles and be sure to use a natural fiber like wool.

  1. Place the soles in a large bowl of very hot (almost boiling) water with several drops of fiber wash.

  2. Use rubber gloves to protect your hands and carefully rub the pieces together until the fibers fuse and felt together.

  3. Pin the pieces down to the shape and size you want and allow to dry completely.

  4. Once the felted soles are dry sew each piece to the bottom of the slipper socks. The added felted soles make these so warm and comfy!
