Crochet Reindeer Amigurumi Pattern

As the days grow shorter and the air starts to carry that unmistakable crispness, I can’t help but feel the subtle nudge of Christmas creeping in. Sure, the snow hasn’t graced us with its presence yet, and the shops are still holding off on the full holiday takeover—but there's something about this time of year that makes me feel like Christmas is just around the corner.

The other day, I bit into a piece of chocolate and was instantly transported to a Christmas morning, with the cozy warmth of festive treats and the twinkle of lights. And then, my mom sent over some old family photos from August, but at first glance, I was convinced they were snapshots from Christmas. There's just something about the anticipation that makes everything feel like a little piece of the holiday season.

With just over a month to go, it’s no surprise that I’ve been itching to dive into some festive crocheting. And what better way to kick off the season than with my first holiday project—a cute crochet reindeer amigurumi!

I had an absolute blast making this crochet reindeer. There’s something so endearing about the little cubic body shape that adds to its quirky charm. I’ve made a handful of these now—some as gifts, others as decorations for my Christmas tree—and each one brings a little more holiday cheer into my home.

Whether you're looking to add a handmade touch to your holiday décor or searching for the perfect DIY gift, this Rudolph Reindeer is sure to bring smiles all around.

You can find the free crochet pattern and video tutorial below or you can support my small business and purchase the inexpensive and ad-free PDF version of the pattern in my shop, Etsy and on Ribblr.

Notes

Be sure to go through the instructions and photos before starting.

Unless otherwise stated, this pattern is worked in continuous rounds using stitch markers to locate the beginning/end of a round. Work in somewhat tight stitches. It might be easier to attach antlers and nose to body before it's stuffed and closed.

Secure safety eyes between Rounds 10 and 11.

Note: If children under the age of three are going to play with this reindeer embroider the eyes with scrap black yarn or black embroidery thread as safety eyes pose a choking hazard.

If using felt for the nose, attach the nose to the felt piece first and then sew the felt to the body.

You can make the reindeer bigger (or smaller) by changing the hook size and yarn weight.
