December Crochet Projects Check-in

It’s hard to believe December is already here! November was a bit of a whirlwind, and while I didn’t finish as many projects as I’d hoped, I’ve made meaningful progress on some long-term WIPs. Plus, I found time to experiment with new ideas and revisit some older projects. Let’s dive into what I’ve been working on this past month.

Crochet Projects in November

1. The Aviator’s Jacket (Army Green Cardigan)
This cardigan has been an exciting challenge! After much trial and error, I finally figured out the sleeve design, and I couldn’t be happier with how it’s turning out. The back panel is almost done, and I’m inching closer to bringing this vision to life. The style I’m aiming for reminds me of a cozy, vintage aviator jacket, so I might just name it The Aviator’s Jacket.

2. Snug-Fitting Ribbed Top
Sometimes, the best projects come out of spontaneity! While stuck on the cardigan design, I decided to use leftover yarn to make something quick and fun. What started as a test piece for my Zebra Chic Poncho turned into a snug-fitting ribbed top. It’s super comfy, and I love how it turned out—even without a formal pattern.

3. Demon Slayer-Inspired Bag
If you’ve watched Demon Slayer, you’ll recognize the iconic green-and-black checkered design. This project was purely for fun and inspired by the anime. I’m thinking of turning it into a stylish bag, but the final design is still up in the air.

4. 2024 Temperature Blanket
Staying on track with this year-long project has been so rewarding! The blanket is growing steadily, and I love watching the color story unfold day by day. I’m already thinking about trying another temperature-style project in the future.

📖 What I’m Watching & Listening To

Watching: Demon Slayer. The characters’ perseverance and the incredible visual storytelling have been so inspiring. It’s the perfect accompaniment to my crochet sessions!

Listening: The Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson. I finished Edgedancer and am currently 3/4 through Oathbringer. Sanderson’s intricate world-building and character arcs have been captivating, making it easy to lose track of time while crocheting.
