My Favorite Pullover - Crochet Sweater Review

Often when I'm browsing through crochet patterns on the interwebs I come across projects that I think I'll make. Of course I think that about most things I find and then nothing ever happens. There are those rare times, however, when I find something that really grabs me and I'm pulled in by the project's strong magnetic force. My Favorite Pullover pattern by Katy of KT and the Squid immediately had my full attention. The image I came across had me thinking, "This looks soft and warm and cozy and all the things I look for in a sweater when it's -20 and the wind is howling."

Before Christmas I purchased all the yarn I would need (6-7 skeins of worsted weight acrylic yarn, like Caron - Simply Soft) and when we returned from our trip to Nicaragua I got to work. It was mid-January and after being in a tropical country I was desperate for something to snuggle in. The instructions were incredibly easy to follow and the pattern worked up fairly quickly (considering it's a sweater!). But by the time I was weaving in the ends on the sleeves I was already putting away my winter clothes. I gazed longingly at my sweater, wanting to wear it despite the balmy weather. Seriously, there were people walking around in t-shirts at one point.

And then the weather gods looked upon my disappointed face and said, "Let's bring on the frigid cold again so she can wear her sweater."

As I type this it feels like -20C, with windchill, and I'm snuggled in my sweater feeling like I'm in the tropics.

If you're looking for a simple and easy to understand crochet sweater pattern you should head over to Ravelry and snag the inexpensive pattern!
