Sandworms. Ya hate ’em right? I hate ’em myself!
Except these sandworms have been specially modified to only try and eat your feet to keep them warm!
When I first watched Michael Keaton light it up as Beetlejuice as a kid, the sandworms always struck me as being particularly terrifying. I mean, they are the only things that can kill a ghost! They devoured the super powerful Beetlejuice like he was a stray Dorito!
But despite being this feared reaper of souls, they looked a bit dorky; maybe it was the movie’s budget and late 80’s video technology? I recently set out to make these endearing dorks as smaller, cuter versions that keep my toes warm and was really happy with the result.
These slippers are really popular in our house. Guests fight over who gets the Beetlejuice Sandworm Slippers. My husband sometimes wears mine and stretches them out. I need to make more!
