Banana Scarf Crochet Pattern

Friends, I have to start by pointing out how incredibly cold it got in Toronto. Like, -20C eyelashes are frozen together and my face hurts cold. On top of the frigid quality of the air, it's also a little gloomy. Naturally, this weather makes me want to snuggle into something warm which is where this post is headed.

When you read the words Banana Scarf Crochet Pattern you might think the scarf is yellow like a banana but you might also think, the scarf is shaped like a banana. And in today's post, you'd be right on both counts because I have created a bright yellow scarf shaped like a banana! Obviously this is both to keep me warm and to provide me with a burst of happy banana yellow color.

Banana Scarf Crochet Pattern

Materials

Abbreviations (US Terminology)

ch - chain

sl st - slip stitch

sc - single crochet

dc - double crochet

inc - increase (2 sts in same st)

dec - decrease (dc 2 tog)

sk - skip

Pattern Notes

This scarf crochet pattern is worked in rounds with a slip stitch to join. I found it helpful to place safety pins or stitch markers in my middle increase/decrease stitches to remind me where to increase/decrease.

Don't worry too much about the exact number of stitches as this scarf is easily adjustable - just remember to make increases on both ends and increases/decrease in the middle to get a banana shape.
